REST API

Shayan TaslimUpdated

The UserJot REST API gives your own code the same workspace data the dashboard uses: boards, requests, comments, votes, changelog entries, members, companies, conversations, and help center articles.

The full reference, with every route, its schema, and examples, is at userjot.com/docs/api. The OpenAPI document behind it is at https://api.userjot.com/v1/openapi.json, so you can generate a client in your language from it.

Base URL and authentication

text
Base URL: https://api.userjot.com/v1
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_USERJOT_API_TOKEN

Create a token in Settings → API Tokens. A token belongs to one workspace, and every request is scoped to that workspace.

A first request

Bash
curl https://api.userjot.com/v1/boards \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_USERJOT_API_TOKEN"

REST or MCP

The MCP server is built on this API, and every MCP tool maps to a route in the reference. Use the REST API from your own backend, automation, or application code, where you want full control over requests and responses. Use MCP when the integration target is an AI client that already speaks the Model Context Protocol.

Token handling

Treat your API token like any other secret:

  • do not hardcode it into committed config files

  • prefer environment variables or a secrets manager

  • use separate tokens for different environments or teammates when possible

  • revoke tokens you no longer need from Settings → API Tokens
